This song started out as a beat I made in March 2020 sampling an old South Indian Kannada tune. Sally took it to the next level with several layers of percussion with the doumbek as the pulse. We both took some time away from the track to work on other projects and try to get through the pandemic. When we revisited Sun Jewel, Sally took it even further again by singing in Arabic in multiple octaves - like a one person choir! I honestly get emotional every time I listen to this song. I'm so grateful for their contributions, and for helping me reach new heights as a producer.
